LLANELLI FOODBANK

At Llanelli Foodbank, our mission is to bring hope and relief to individuals and families facing food insecurity and crisis!

Our approach goes beyond simply addressing immediate hunger. We recognise that each person who comes through our doors is experiencing their own unique challenges, and we strive to create an environment where they feel seen, respected, and supported. Every interaction is an opportunity to provide more than just food—it’s a chance to extend a warm smile, a listening ear, and genuine care.

We are more than just a food bank—we are a lifeline, a support system, and a beacon of hope for all who seek our help.

How to get help from our food bank

Our food bank works using a Voucher System

Step 1: Get in touch with us

If you call or email our food bank we can talk through your situation and put you in touch with a relevant local agency.

Step 2: Arrange a visit to the referral agency

To offer the best possible assistance tailored to your specific situation, we collaborate with local agencies. If they determine that you are having difficulty securing food, they will provide you with a foodbank voucher. Additionally, the local agency can offer long-term support if needed to help address the underlying issues contributing to your crisis.

Step 3: Bring  your food bank voucher to your nearest Community Life Hub

Our team will provide you with emergency food parcels, clothing, care packages, or access to a warm meal. We can also connect you with additional support services to help address the root causes of hardship and guide you through this challenging time.

If you or someone you know is in urgent need, please don't hesitate to contact the Foodbank on 07594609952 for immediate assistance.

The food bank thrives on the support and generosity of our local community. There are many ways you can make a difference and help us continue providing vital services to individuals and families in need:

Donate

You can contribute by donating food items or essential toiletries to our food bank, helping us provide nutritious meals and basic necessities to those struggling. Financial donations are also greatly appreciated and enable us to sustain and expand our services. Every contribution, big or small, helps us support more people in need.

Volunteer

Join our team of passionate volunteers and help us make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s assisting with food distribution, supporting our community meals, or offering your time to run workshops, your involvement will directly benefit those in need.

Fundraise

Organise a fundraising event or activity to raise awareness and resources for our project. Whether it’s a bake sale, sponsored walk, or community event, your efforts will provide crucial support for our services and help ensure no one in Llanelli goes without the essentials.

Refer Someone for Help

If you know someone who is struggling to afford food or needs assistance, you can refer them to us. Whether through our Community Life Hubs or external referral forms, we are here to offer compassionate, practical support to anyone in crisis.

Together, we can create a stronger, more supportive community where no one is left behind.

BANK THE FOOD APP

"What food should I donate to the Foodbank?"

There's an app for that!

Meet BanktheFood! This free app will ping your smartphone a real-time list of our most wanted items when you're at a shop/location that is partnered with us (Tesco Trostre or Lidl).

----------------------------------

Please download the app from your device's app store and follow the instructions to get started.

Once you have followed Llanelli Foodbank, the app will send you a helpful ‘ping’ with a reminder of our needs when you are shopping in your local supermarket.

You can then choose exactly what you would like to donate and leave your donation in your food bank’s collection box at the end of your shopping trip.

We will then be alerted via the app of your (anonymous) donation making it easier for us to track and locate items that we really need.
