BILL & ELLEN CHAPMAN

Bill & Ellen are the Senior Pastors of Myrtle House, the Elim Pentecostal Church in Llanelli. 

Bill represents those who are part of the Myrtle House community and those who serve in the many ministries, within the community through his involvement with the Local Authority and through his work with local church leaders. He has volunteered as a School Governor in two local primary school for many years and believes that every Christian should be actively involved in their community.

Both Bill & Ellen studied at Regents Theological College (then Elim Bible College) between 1991-1993. Before that Bill worked as a Fisherman, Construction Plant Fitter, Fish & Chip Shop Owner (with Ellen) and Boat Builder. Ellen worked as a Chef, Catering Manager, Mother and Homemaker.  After college they moved to Swansea where they were part of the ministry team at the City Temple (now Swansea City Church) for 2 years. Then in 1996 they, with their children Kate & James and the dog Jake, moved to Llanelli.

Kate, their daughter has 3 girls called Ellie, Phoebe & Sophia. Kate is an Elder on the leadership team and has worked within the church in several roles, one of them was to oversee the Children's Church and Children's Ministry but over time she has gradually taken on more responsibility and has developed these other areas of ministry,The parent toddler group, the friendship club and the Foodbank. Recently she has handed over the day to day running of these ministries to the team leaders and as of February 2022, has taken on a new challenge of pioneering a new area of influence across community linked with the Foodbank.

James is married to Suzi and together they helped shape the Youth Ministry of the church. James is now working as a freelance photographer, take a look at his work at www.thepaisleyproductions.com  They now have a daughter called Coral and a son called Rocco and have relocated to Poynton in Cheshire.

Since 1996 the church has seen positive growth, with over 40 people in paid employment and many people involved in voluntary work throughout the life of Myrtle House. On average, Myrtle House sees many 100’s of people through its doors each week across the various ministries and projects.

Bill & Ellen are passionate about Jesus and seeing His love lived out transform their community.  Everything they seek to do is for the Glory of God. The phrase that they use to sum up the intent of all that goes on in the life of the Church is 'To be a community that lives in His love and lives it out’, which is based on John 13:33-35.
